The deer was taken at 65 yards using a grunt call and shot with a slug gun. Middle Photo - This 8 point was taken on Nov. 9th. 2000 at 28 step also using a grunt call and slug gun. Bottom Photo - Piebald Doe harvest with Slug Gun, 60 yds 11-27-2000. All deer were harvested in the City of Suffolk.

Although not a real recent photo, I thought many of our members might be interested in seeing this picture of Tom Barclay (on the right) and John D. Williams (on the left) with the famous Barclay deer taken in 1936. This deer was the winner of Virginia's First Big Game Contest which was held in 1940 and was open to any deer taken in the past. The deer was taken in Surry County and scores 231 5/32 and 18 scorable points on the Virginia Scoring System. Photo courtesy of Carl Batkins |

Members Steve Little, son Daniel and friends caught these fish on April
14, 2000 aboard the Godspeed out of Hatteras, N.C. Altogether, they caught 22 Tuna
averaging 25 lbs. and a Citation Dolphin weighing in at 37lbs.
